Why is this important?
If you are using Zapier to connect 3rd party products such as Unbounce or Gravity Forms to SchoolMint Connect, you may also want to add an Activity log entry to a student record
With the Create New Student Activity Log action step you can do exactly that
Prerequisite
First, you need to have the SchoolMint Connect Zapier app set up with you instance of Connect. See Getting Started with Zapier for more information.
Adding an Activity Log to a Student Record
In order to add a log entry, you need to make sure you add the Create New Student Activity Log action correctly.
Steps to follow:
- Make sure you already have the event Create/Update Inquiry set up, as you must already have a contact added. This will come from your landing page or form.
- Once you test the Create/Update Inquiry, you will find the field Student ID in the output if the record is successfully created in SchoolMint Connect.
- Add another action step and select SchoolMint Connect app.
- Now from the events dropdown, select Create New Student Activity Log
- Select Person field in which you can either select the Contact available from the dropdown or you can map the Contact Id field in custom section from the prerequisite steps.
- Move to the Activity field
- Select from one of the available options in the drop-down
- Move to the Activity Details field
- Add a description that describes what you wish to record
- Move to the Activity Message and leave an optional message, such as the source URL from a prior step
- Click Continue
- Test & Publish your Zap
