What is covered in this article?
The Communications module
The Communications module is your center for managing broadcast communications. Broadcast communications are messages that are sent on an as-needed basis (different from automatic notifications, which are managed elsewhere in the site).
You can access the Communications module landing page by navigating to Communications > Email.
Subscribers
The first section on the landing page provides some top-level statistics about your SchoolMint Connect contacts list.
The following data points are featured:
- Total Contacts: The total number of contacts in your Connect site. Students are not included in this number.
- Email Addresses: The total number of contact email addresses in your site. Note that this number might be less than your total number of contacts, because contacts may share the same email address, especially if they live in the same household.
- Subscribed: How many of the email addresses are enabled to receive messages.
- Unsubscribed: Email addresses that will not receive emails, usually because the contact has used the "Unsubscribe" link in a previous message to opt out of further email communications. Click on the Unsubscribed box to view a list of contacts who are currently unsubscribed. You may wish to follow up with these families.
Draft Messages
The Draft Messages section displays a list of email communications that have been drafted but not yet sent. From this section, you can click the pencil icon to edit a drafted message, or click the clock icon to choose your recipient group and send your message.
Scheduled Messages
The Scheduled Messages section lists email messages that are scheduled to be sent at a future date and time. The contents of the message and the sending date/time may still be edited.
Sent Messages
The Sent Messages section lists communications that have been sent as well as some user engagement statistics.
