Using QR codes
QR codes are square-shaped, black and white symbols that can be scanned with a smartphone to instantly open a specific webpage. You can set up a QR code to help users quickly access the registration form for a specific event.
Step 1: Get the URL for your event
- Navigate to Events > Events List.
- Locate your specific event. Click into the event to access the Event Details screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the RSVP List and click REGISTER ATTENDEES.
- In the Select Contact pop up box, click NEW REGISTRANT. A new browser window/tab will open and display a registration form for this specific event.
- Copy the URL. It will look similar to this: https://connect.schoolmint.com/webforms/event-registration/d8075785-5397-4539-b0e2-770e3c0c1806?eventId=2481
Step 2: Create your QR code
- Go to https://www.qr-code-generator.com/
- Paste in the event URL from Step 1.
- Click to download the JPG or SVG depending on how you intend to use the image.
You will now have a QR code that you can print out or display on a screen. Families can use their phones to scan the code and immediately open the event registration webpage.
Tip: Consider creating a poster or direct mail piece with the QR code on it so people can quickly and easily register for an event.
Note: The initial Thanks for Registering email will still be sent when a family registers via the QR code, so make sure to review and edit the email content to be relevant to your use case.
